Digital Household Egg Incubator — Installation, Operation and Maintenance
This guide covers the model-specific features, components, installation procedures, motorized egg turning, humidity control, hatching equipment and maintenance requirements of the CocksMachine Digital Household Egg Incubator.
For general incubation principles, egg selection, storage conditions, candling and incubation periods, refer to the General Support guide.
Digital Household — Main Technical Specifications
The following technical information is taken from the supplied Digital Household operating manual.
Important model feature: This incubator has a motor-driven egg-turning mechanism with three interchangeable egg cup types for different bird species.
Digital Household — Main Machine Components
1. PVC Body and Foam Insulation
The incubator body is made of PVC. The body description in the supplied manual specifies a 20 mm foam insulation layer.
The technical specifications section also lists a foam insulation thickness of 20 mm. Verify the actual thickness before relying on either value as a definitive specification.
2. Digital Temperature Controller
The incubator is equipped with a digital thermostat with a resolution of 0.1°C.
The controller has an indicator light that illuminates when heating is required, as described in the operating instructions.
Factory calibration: The controller is factory-configured. Do not change its settings unnecessarily.
3. Fan and Heating Element Assembly
The fan and heating element are mounted together in a dedicated holder.
The heating element is made of heat-resistant silicone, according to the original manual.
4. Egg Candler
The incubator includes an egg candler for examining the eggs during incubation.
The general candling procedure is covered in the General Support guide.
5. Automatic Egg Turner
The Digital Household incubator uses a motorized egg-turning mechanism.
The manual specifies three types of interchangeable egg cups suitable for different bird species.
The procedure for changing the egg cups is demonstrated in the accompanying instructional video.
Checking motor operation: The turning mechanism moves very slowly, so its movement may not be visible to the naked eye.
The manual advises checking for warmth and vibration at the motor to confirm that it is operating.
Motor connection: Ensure that the motor plug is correctly and securely connected. A loose connection can prevent the turning mechanism from operating.
6. Multi-Channel Water Reservoir
The Digital Household incubator has a multi-channel water reservoir. Its channels are used to regulate humidity inside the machine.
- Initially fill only the central channel with water.
- Wait approximately two hours and check the humidity level.
- If the humidity remains insufficient, add water to another channel.
- Refill water approximately every three days during normal operation.
Special filling container: The incubator includes a container designed to allow water to be added without removing the egg-turning mechanism.
Important: Do not automatically fill every reservoir channel. Start with the central channel and evaluate the humidity first.
7. Hatching Basket
The model includes a separate hatching basket for use during the hatching stage.
Do not leave the hatching basket over the water reservoir during the setter stage.
The original manual warns that doing so may prevent humidity from reaching the required level.
For hatching, remove the egg-turning mechanism and position the hatching basket over the water reservoir.
8. Humidity Gauge
The incubator includes a humidity gauge with its normal operating range indicated in green.
Monitor this gauge while the machine is operating.
Step-by-Step Installation and Startup
Follow this model-specific installation procedure before starting an incubation cycle.
- Position the water reservoir correctly inside the incubator.
- Add water to the central channel of the reservoir.
- Place the automatic egg-turning mechanism over the reservoir.
- Connect the egg-turning motor plug securely.
- Connect the incubator to the correct electrical supply using its original connection arrangement.
- Switch the incubator on.
- Confirm that the fan rotates correctly.
- Check that the motor-connection indicator light is illuminated.
- Confirm that the motor is operating by checking for warmth and vibration, as described in the manual.
- Check that the thermostat indicator illuminates when heating is required.
- Allow the machine to operate for one full day before loading eggs, as specified in its startup procedure.
- After the test period, place the eggs into the turning mechanism with their pointed ends facing downward.
- Close the incubator lid completely.
- Ensure that the lid is seated securely and air is not leaking through its corners.
Operating conditions stated in the model's startup section:
- Internal temperature: 37.5–37.7°C.
- Relative humidity: 55–65%.
Digital Household — Daily Equipment Checks
- Monitor the digital temperature controller.
- Confirm that the automatic turning mechanism remains operational.
- Check the motor connection and its indicator light.
- Monitor the supplied humidity gauge.
- Refill the water reservoir approximately every three days.
- If the central channel does not provide sufficient humidity after approximately two hours, add water to another channel.
- Check that the lid remains securely seated.
Digital Household — Hatching Basket Setup
On approximately day 18 of chicken egg incubation, the model's automatic turning assembly is replaced with its hatching basket.
- Remove the automatic egg-turning mechanism from the incubator.
- Add sufficient water to the reservoir to reduce the need to open the lid for refilling during the following days.
- Position the hatching basket over the water reservoir.
- Gently arrange the eggs on the hatching basket.
- Close the incubator lid securely.
- Reconnect the machine to its electrical supply as described in the original manual.
Model-specific warning: The hatching basket should be installed over the reservoir only when the machine enters the hatching stage. It should not remain there during the earlier setter stage.
General hatching precautions, chick removal, drying and incubation timing are covered in the General Support guide.
Digital Household — Component Maintenance
- Check the condition of the multi-channel water reservoir and its filling channels.
- Verify that the automatic egg-turning motor operates properly.
- Check the motor's electrical connector.
- Confirm that the digital temperature controller operates normally.
- Examine the fan and heating element assembly for proper operation.
- Ensure that the lid closes correctly and seats securely.
- Keep the air openings underneath the machine and on its lid unobstructed.
Controller settings: Do not unnecessarily modify the factory-configured temperature controller.
Digital Household — Final Operating Checklist
Before beginning an incubation cycle, confirm the following model-specific items:
- The digital temperature controller is operating.
- The fan and heating element are functioning.
- The automatic egg-turning motor is operational.
- The motor plug is securely connected.
- The motor-connection indicator light is illuminated.
- The appropriate egg cups have been selected.
- The water reservoir is installed correctly.
- Water has initially been added only to the central channel.
- Humidity has been checked after approximately two hours.
- The hatching basket is not covering the water reservoir during the setter stage.
- The lid is fully and securely closed.
- Water refilling is planned approximately every three days.
